Offer your software to every KickStorm OS userEverybody who writes software for KickStorm OS can offer it through KickStore - free. Your program then appears in the store on every machine with KickStorm OS, can be installed with one click, and every new version reaches all users automatically as an update. In short- Programs for KickStorm OS: AROS, native 64-bit ARM (aarch64) - classic 68k programs do not belong here
- Register as developer on the web: kickstore.amiga-evolution.com/developer/ - with your real name and phone number (never published). The operator checks and approves your account
- Upload your program: every upload - a new package and every new version - is checked by hand by the operator, who releases it; you get a mail
- From then on you maintain the details yourself in your developer area: description, icon, architecture, minimum memory - and you release a beta as final version yourself
- You are responsible for your programs - KickStore checks developers, but does not take responsibility for the code (terms)
- The package name is yours: nobody else can publish or change a package under it
- Optional: test it first with your own small repository
|
1. Prepare the archive- LHA or ZIP. Best: one folder with the program, its icon (.info) and a ReadMe.
- Build the program for AROS on aarch64. The package says so with arch = aarch64 (a comma list is possible, e.g. aarch64, arm); KickStore only offers it on matching systems. Fields like CPU, FPU, chipset or chip RAM only matter for m68k packages and are ignored on aarch64.
- Put a version string into the program ($VER: MyTool 1.2 (19.10.2026)) - KickStore shows it and recognises installed copies by it.
- Choose a package name: letters, digits and . _ + - , no spaces (MyTool). KickStore recognises updates by this name - keep it for every version. The names KickStore, KickStormOS, KickStoreCheck and kickstorecli are reserved.
2. Test it in your own network (optional)A repository is just a folder of text files and archives (catalogs, manifests, pkgs, icons) that any web server can deliver (Apache, nginx, a NAS). On KickStorm OS enter its address as developer repository: in the shell kickstorecli prefs DevRepoURL=http://192.168.1.10:8080. Your packages then appear marked [dev] and take precedence over the official repository. KickStore itself never comes from there. Empty the setting when you are done. 3. Register as developerOpen https://kickstore.amiga-evolution.com/developer/ and register with your email address, the name shown in the store and your legal details: first and last name and a phone number where you can be reached. They are only visible to the operator, are never published and make sure that the person responsible for a program can be reached. You accept the developer terms (see below). Confirm the address with the link we send you. The operator then checks and approves your account once - you get a mail. There is no password: you always sign in with a link by mail. KickStore for developers 4. Upload your programIn your developer area: Submit new package - package name, version, category, description and the archive. Choose whether it is a final version or a beta. Nothing goes live automatically: the operator checks every upload by hand and releases it (for testing, as beta or as final version) or rejects it. You get a mail either way. Note: KickStore has no automatic virus check - the virus checkers of the classic Amiga do not know aarch64 programs. Aminet and WHDLoad are not part of KickStore either. 5. Maintain it yourself- New version: upload the archive with a higher version number, final or beta. Like a new package it waits for the operator's check; once released it reaches every machine as an update and you get a mail.
- Withdraw a version: if a version turns out to be faulty, withdraw it with a reason. It leaves the store at once; machines that installed it show a warning and are offered the valid version.
- Details for all versions: name, description in English, German, French and Italian, categories, architecture (arch), minimum memory and the icon.
- Release a beta version as final version yourself.
You only ever see and change your own packages. Rules- Only programs you wrote or may distribute, free for KickStore users.
- A package name belongs to one developer. Nobody else can publish under it or change it - only the operator.
- The operator can block an account, hold a version back or withdraw it at any time.
- KickStore checks the developer of every update: a package with your name from somebody else never replaces yours.
- Withdrawn versions can only be released again by the operator.
- You can delete your account yourself in your developer area. If you own packages, the operator decides what happens to them.
- You are responsible for your programs and their content, not the KickStore platform. Details: the terms.
